So, BPals, I have this dilemma. Typically when a fish starts to act funny, swimming upside down and shit it’s only a matter of hours before they are taking their victory lap in the potty. Sadly Lewis the fish has been dying for over a week now and won’t give it up. At this point he floats on the top like its over until I try to fish him out (pun intended). Then like a tiny miracle he freaks out, comes back to life, and swims around top speed albeit jacked up and sideways. I can’t bring myself to flush him before he’s dead, however he must be miserable in his current state. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated (besides Katie who I already know will suggest boiling him).
Here is a short video of Lewis and Zombie fish from better fish days.
And a short Cappy vid...
I can't watch the videos (damn work, blocking me! ;) but I get the gist of what's happening.
Remember, by flushing him, you're not killing him, just sending him to a bigger fish bowl. All drains lead to the ocean... (Didn't you see Finding Nemo?!)

I have a similar situation with one of my betta dudes... he keeps going semi-wonky in his bowl, seems to be going blind because he only eats now when he actually bumps into his food, and I thought for sure he'd have thrown in the towel a good month back, but he just refuses to go. I have to respect it. I just keep trying to drop the food directly on his head & assume it's generally better to be than not to be.
Again with the damned impossibly cute puppy. I don't come here to get all squishy and giggly, you know.
